Clayborn Temple, now known as The Clayborn Reborn Revitalization Project, is home to the 1968 Sanitation Workers Strike. From the stain glass to the graffitti, unlock the story behind a historic piece of the civil rights movement.
Collecting the Unexpected
Presenter: Marina Pacini, Chief Curator, Curator American, Modern, and Contemporary Art, Memphis Brooks Museum of Art
This presentation will look at collecting more broadly and suggest some options for a beginning collector such as artists books, industrial design, and artists multiples. Proper storage, display, and care for the objects will also be considered.

Musician Aaron James is both a storyteller and a story himself. He represents the universal and never-ending journey of finding yourself and being unapologetically you.
Aaron James is an artist unhindered by concerns of comfort. Evolving from a place of uncertainty, this Memphis-based musician sheds his former self in order to absorb the world around him and experience it to the fullest.
James will have a music set followed by an artist talk.
